It can take a beating!
At larger events, things get very busy, even when setting up the lighting and AV installations. Expensive, powerful equipment is set up with correspondingly high demands on the quality of the cabling. However, the cables have to offer far more than just good transmission properties. They have to be able to withstand a lot of physical stress, being pulled, knotted, stepped on, dragged through dirt and water and sometimes even driven over. They are also exposed to rapidly rising temperatures caused by headlights and high humidity. Technicians also attach great importance to the cable being quick and easy to lay and having a long range. The HDMI 2.0 AOC cable was developed for such applications.
What are the advantages of an active, optical HDMI cable compared to a standard cable?
The HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 certified AOC cable combines the advantages of an optical cable with those of a classic HDMI cable. But while a pure copper cable reaches the end of its transmission capability at a maximum of 20 meters, the fiber optic/copper hybrid can easily manage up to 100 meters. Thanks to the integrated optical sensors, consistently high transmission quality is always guaranteed. Despite its slim design, it offers stable 4K@60 Hz transmission and 18 Gbit/s up to a range of 100 meters. Another advantage is the very slim, flexible cable, which is easy to unwind and rewind and can even withstand tangles without affecting the signal flow. The cable diameter is only 5.8 mm, which in combination with the flexible TPU jacket makes it very flexible.
The robust construction of the cable with Kevlar reinforcement plus steel armoring achieves a very high compressive and tensile strength. It can withstand short-term crushing up to 200 kg and tensile loads – even long-term – up to 40 kg. This also results in a high resistance to breakage and damage from rodent bites.
The plugs are in no way inferior to the high quality of the cable. The housings are made of high-quality metal, which ensures a stable plug connection. Each side is also equipped with IP68 plug protection with a screw-off cover, which protects the plug heads from dirt and moisture during storage.
Overall, the HDMI AOC cable offers an excellent combination of performance and robustness and is a great choice for anyone who needs a stable and reliable HDMI connection that meets the requirements of demanding events and installations.
