Testing before it matters

Depending on the product and the technical requirements, different mechanical, electrical, optical and environmental test methods can be used. Special tests are defined on a project-specific basis.

  • Bend test rig with a row of clamped cables and a control desk in the test laboratory
    Mechanical testing
  • Two fire test chambers in a workshop, one in stainless steel, one painted green with a control panel and fire extinguisher
    Fire behaviour
  • Mechanical tests

Mating cycle, drag chain, torsion and bending tests, under defined climatic conditions if required.

  • Electrical tests

Impulse voltage tests and pin-to-pin connection tests.

  • Optical inspection

Microscopic examinations and cross-sections for analysing connector terminations.

  • Fire behaviour

Tests to relevant UL, IEC and CPR requirements where required for the product and project.

  • Ageing & climate

Ageing and thermal cycling tests for validation under defined ambient conditions.

Quality throughout the production process

Quality does not start at final inspection. Defined testing, approval and documentation steps accompany production from material supply through to delivery.

  1. Incoming goods

Inspection of defined components and materials.

  2. Production

Production at the selected and audited production partner.

  3. Electrical testing

    Defined connection and function tests.

  4. Visual & final inspection

Comparison of series parts against the approved requirements or the golden sample.

  5. Documentation

Test reports, FAI reports and retained approval samples according to project requirements.

Approval for series production with a clear reference

  • First article

On request or according to project requirements, we document the first article inspection in a first article inspection report (FAI report).

  • Golden sample

The approved sample serves as the reference for subsequent series production.

  • Series inspection

Ongoing production is checked against the defined specification and approval criteria.
